Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson will miss two to three weeks due to an ankle injury, the team announced Wednesday.
Atkinson sustained the injury during the Blue Jackets' Saturday loss to the Colorado Avalanche and sat out the Columbus' overtime defeat against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
The 30-year-old missed 12 games earlier this season due to a sprained ankle, returning to action on Jan. 16.
Atkinson has 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 games this season. He scored a career-best 41 goals last season and has 198 in nine NHL seasons, all with Columbus.
The Blue Jackets are dealing with a string of injuries, including one that led to star defenseman Seth Jones undergoing ankle surgery earlier this week. Jones will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.
Columbus also added forward Liam Foudy to the roster on an emergency recall basis from the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
This is the second time this week Foudy has been summoned on an emergency recall. He made his NHL debut on Monday against the Lightning and was scoreless.
Foudy, who turned 20 on Feb. 4, has 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists) in 33 games with London this season.
