Columbus Crew SC signed first-round pick Miguel Berry on Thursday.
The 22-year-old forward was the No. 7 overall selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
"We want to congratulate Miguel on officially joining Crew SC," said Crew president and general manager Tim Bezbatchenko in a statement. "Miguel's hard work in preseason camp did not go unnoticed and we are excited to have him join our Club. We look forward to working with Miguel as he continues his development as a player."
Born in Barcelona, Berry starred collegiately at the University of San Diego. He registered 38 goals and 16 assists in four seasons (2016-19), including 17 goals in 18 starts as a senior to capture West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Year honors.
Columbus opens the 2020 MLS regular season on Sunday at home against New York City FC.
